About Meghan

I obtained my CPA, CGA designation while working in public practice, acting in the capacity of external accountant for many small to medium sized businesses in British Columbia. This role included accounting, financial reporting, auditing, compliance, and tax work, as well as managing teams and firm workflow.

After 7 years in public practice, I pivoted to municipal government finance and later to fractional finance where I worked as fractional controller for many start-up and early growth businesses.

​

Next, I moved into a leadership role as Chief Operating Officer at theFinanceStack, a fast-paced, rapidly growing fractional finance firm. Leading the accounting function as well as general operations, I helped rapidly grow and scale the business while spearheading strategic planning, quality control, efficiency and cost management, human resources, team member recruitment and mentorship, internal and external communications, process and policy development, and more.

In early 2023, after over a decade of working as an employee, I made the decision to shift into full time self-employment, providing accounting and business consulting services to small businesses, public practice accounting firms, municipal governments, and the general public. In my personal life, I enjoy cooking, trail running, hiking, camping, and spending time with my little family which is made up of my husband, two young children, and my beloved dog, Toby.
